I guess I'll add my .02.

IMHO, I think a show car should be a blend of everything. That's the idea. A balance of performance mods (engine, suspension, whatever) and asthertics (stereo, interior, paint, etc).

If its a show car then all aspects of the car need to be taken into consideration, not just what's under the hood. If you are performance oriented, then concentrate on those mods. If you like stereos or lights, then install to your hearts content. But don't neglect the rest of the car. If you have an awesome paint job or 1000 watt stereo, you better be able to keep the hood open. If your engine puts out 600hp, the body shouldn't be an eye sore. Again, we are talking show cars...not track cars that hit an occasional show. And to reiterate - this is my opinion.

Although my performance mods are minimal (more coming - I swear), I have made sure to touch all areas of the car - interior, stereo, brakes, suspension, engine, exterior, lights, etc. Ive done the racing thing in the past and eventually I will put this car on the track, but that's not my primary use for the car. So why a performance oriented car for shows? Why not - I grew up drivin Fbods (see my sig) and never had a 4th gen. What better way to go out on top. Besides, I will eventually do a performance engine or F.I., but for me its bragging rights and to keep the occasional modded Stang or rice burner at bay.

Of course, to each his own.

As for the poor or biased judging, I've been there as well. Ask NJWitchygirl. We were at a show in Washington Township and this guy had a 25th Anniv Trans Am...it was his wife's car...and it was filthy, especially under the hood...oh by the way -> 0 mods. He won Best Pontiac that day...and I was teh jackass putting "tire wet" on the wheels in 100 degree heat. So I feel your pain

And one last thing I would like to touch base on - what the hell does "Best of Show" class exactly mean? I keep getting different explanations and keep seeing the wrong car get the award. To my understanding Best of Show is a car that has all the areas I mentioned above attended to and the presentation of the vehicle is taken into consideration as well.

Someone clear this up for me please?

OK - enough of me babbling....
