to be honest there is no knowlege involved, if it doesnt fit, it inst right. i much rather spend the money on tools that i will have for the rest of my life and figure things out on my own, which i will also know forever, and be much more proud of the accomplishment, then to pay someone to do it. i rather pay someone to look over my shoulder, than to entirely do it with out me. if a company sells a product to work with your setup, the swap has to be able to be done. the only difference between you and the shop, or person doing the work, is experiance, and you will never have it if you dont do it. take a chance, save some money and learn something new. win win situation. i think you could do it, youre up against nuts and bolts, not open heart surgery. i hope i dont sound like a jerk, i am really just trying to inspire you. its much more admiralble to do it yourself too.
