The differenc comes into account when they close, the 82-90 have a recess on the front bumper which they can close into, the 91-92 have a smaller profile on the front/top so they close into/under the front bumper cover. think where the directionals are on each of the styles. the motors are all the same mounting, some connectors are different. the headlight lids are all the same, but the actual mounts for the lights and the black trim surroundign them are different.
