Stay far away from blowmasters with the LS1. It may sound great but it actually hurts performance on the LS1.

A lot of people like the magnaflow. I like the sound. I personally like the sound of the SLP dual/dual but I'm biased

. Nice and quiet at idle and sounds nice and deep at WOT. The loudmouth is good however if your buddy decides to go with headers and no cat the loudmouth turns into a rasp machine and sounds like TOTAL ****. It'd be unbearable.

If you or him want real world experience and actual sound clips check out www.ls1sounds.com That will give him a good idea on what catbacks sound good on stock cars and also modded ones. He needs to know what he plans in the future so he can buy the right exhaust. Do it once, do it right.
