Canon has some of the best quality lenses around, even in their point and shoot cameras, which is what you're looking for. Better lens = better clarity, regardless of how many mega pixels you have. Most of my research in digital cameras has been for SLR's, so I'm a little limited in what I can offer for info on these.
If you're just looking to use these pictures for the web, and dont care about print quality, you can even shop used and dont worry about these 4 or 5+ megapixel cameras, because its just a bigger picture that you're going to have to shrink down in the end anyhow.
I don't have any experience with kodak easyshare cameras, however, I do have a Sony Cybershot camera thats probably 3 or 4 years old now, and I still love it. I take that wherever I don't want to take my SLR.
Look for reviews on different cameras, check out
www.dpreview.com for some reviews on cameras, along with other sites. Also shop around for the best price, but make sure you buy from someone dependable. Almost all my stuff is bought from
