I was talking to my GF the other day about future fuels and such. I plan on keeping my SS for life and for my kids to see and experience, but then i think...will fossil fuels still be available in say 40 years? At this rate, mayeb not. Now they say "restore them, dont crush them" regarding older classic cars, but if in the future, Gasoline is nto available...whats goign to happen to the collector car industry. I guess they will have to keep some fuel stations open here and there and the price will probably go up even more. So think about it. in 20 years 75% of the cars will be alternate fuel source possibly. Avergae life/use of an average(not collector/sport) gas vehicle is say 15 years. So in 20 years, most switch over to new fuel, add another 15 to allow most gas vehicle to die out(like the dinosaurs) and so in 35 years, the whole fuel market could be completely different. For use now, we have cars from the 20's(with minor changes) running on the same gas that a 2007 car runs on. thats about 90 years using the same basic fuel, I guess someday instead of doing SBC swaps into vintage musclecars, we'll be doign like 20k Watt electric motor conversion swaps into 4 gen f bodies... hey , you never know... Its definately something to think about...
