I just went to dmv in Trenton to title/register the 1970 Camaro. They've been closed for 10+ days due to the flood and budget crap. So I show them the Canada ownership docs signed over to me, the 7501 import form, the signed bill of sale the owner sent me, I already have insurance on it and I had pictures with me. They say they won't title it without a Canada notarized bill of sale, I need a VIN tracing on paper, I need an HS7 import document which nobody requires anymore according to the import company so she had to find a carbon copy for me and dmv wants to see the shipping documents! WTFFFFFFFFFFFF! So I start saying there's no way I can get a Canada notarized bill of sale by Friday before the sales tax goes up. I complain about them being closed for 10 days while I had the stuff waiting. And I tell them that the guy I bought the car from works for Toyota and gets sent to Japan several times a year and he might not be available to get the bill of sale notarized!

I really don't know how I kept calm enough to even have a conversation, but I said no way in hell I'm paying 7% because they were closed for 10 days! The lady was very nice and tried everything she could but the god dam NJ red tape bullsh!t won't allow me to title it. That's where our money is being wasted folks! The importer was stunned when I told her what the problem was and the seller of the car couldn't believe what was needed either. The shipping documents consist of a carbon copy of the car's description signed by me and the truck's driver so that might not be good enough either. Dammit I'm pissed! I wasted a half day and now I still need to go back this week.
