Most waxes are abrasive and will eventually remove all the clear coat. Zaino and some of the other polishes are not and sit on top of the finish. My friend had an old 67 Mustang conv that the original owner waxed the paint right off the hood! Some of the polishing compounds are obviously abrasive as well so don't confuse them with polishes like Zaino. Everyone has their own preference and part of that is the ease to apply/buff out. I use the Mother's Carnuba wax and cleaner on my cheap cars. It does a good job of removing oxidation. There's a lot of newer stuff by Eagle 1 and Mequires that work really well too.
