Many people will say that if you are a new rider, start on like a mid-early 90s 600cc bike, but in your case i wouldnt recommend that. hence why i said a 750cc min bike. I ride 600s because of my size, 5'9" 180, and i feel im a perfect fit on my ninja. Of all the 600s ive owned and others ive rode, none of them would reasonably fit a rider your size. Yes you could get by with one but it would be uncomfortable and in turn, unsafe. Mainly 600s are suggested due to less power than the 900cc class bikes or litre bikes, but again in your case, there are exceptions. My gfs "little" brother just turned 17 this month and he is 6'5 280 so i have a pretty good idea of your size. He could lift my 600 over his head probably, but where i barely flatfoot a zx9, he'd stand over it fine. With a bikes power, you need to look at cc size as well as power to weight ratio, yes 600s are generally less powerful, with a 150lb rider it'd be fast but put a 300lb rider on a 600 and itll be a dog(but still a sportbike keep in mind, lol), so a 300lb rider on a 900cc will equal out the power to weight ratio some and bring it down to a safer level. For the average person(under 200) i would NEVER recommend a first bike over 600cc.
