if a pedestrian puts one foot in the crosswalk, you have to yield to them. the law is pretty straightforward, not a lot of interpretation can be made. you could get a lawyer and fight the ticket, but i think getting a ticket for not yielding to pedestrians in crosswalks is tantamount to getting a ticket for not keeping right on a major highway. it's just something you should program yourself to do. once you hit a pedestrian (hopefully not fatally) you will have nightmares for the rest of your life.
my only fear of driving is hitting a kid that's run out between two parked cars chasing a ball... i dread the thought of it.
