the "we" didn't want electric cars is a myth.... THERE "WAS" a waiting list "EVEN MANY CELEBS WERE ON IT *IE Mel Gibson, Tom Hanks, Alexandra Paul" GM was describing the limitations of the product before they were sold...... WHY WOULD YOU DESCRIBE LIMITATIONS BEFORE STRAGETIC MARKETING
Also battery technology has drastically changed since 1996
Ovonic had developed a practical EVERYDAY use battery for the EV-1 GM failed to use these batteries in the beginning purchasing the patent using "AC Delco" which we all know the effects of AC Delco *IE Stereo equipment*...... that's a failure on GM's Part not the battery industry at the time
CHEVERON PURCHASED CONTROL OF THE Ovonic batteries LASTING LONGER THAN THE LIFE OF A MILLION MILE CAR .... from GM
the electric vehicle is not for "everybody" given the limited range it can only meet the needs of 90% of the people
A typical maintenance checkup for the EV1 consisted of replenishing the windshield washer fluid and a tire rotation.
GM Quietly Dismantled the EV-1 project since, going from the highest waiting list down....
why would automakers such as Toyota, GM, Honda etc. be destroying and hiding the destruction of
NEW "E"lectric "V"ehicles
