Despight my lacking of involvment anymore throughout my few months of research I found that... 300whp in a gen1 motor fbody car is: ta da a mid to low 13. As already said a civic is much lighter making less power worth more...
Seeing as how your car probably weighs in around 3400 or 3500 pounds and his at 2100 (1800 if its a hatch) means that with the same rwhp hes running 0.8-1.2 seconds faster than you. Like everyone said give some specs on your motor, trans, rear. If hes steep geared and your running little comuter car 2.73's then that also makes a huge difference. Chances are hes a tuner boy and drives a stick (I would hope) which means that if your car is auto (without a kit/converter) hes got you off the line not even factoring in gears. See theres so many more things to it that, I'm 300whp hes 260whp who wins?
As far as your comment about nitrous vs cam and money equally horse thats a stupid comparison. I'm pretty sure that $400 cam which is probably really $250 is a much better investment than a go fast for 3 seconds button. Internals>nitrous always...
btw what is a turbo exhaust? Are you talking about a remote mount turbo system that replaces your muffler with a turbo? Is that factored into your claims for rwhp? Is your motor tuned to prevent turbo lag? Have you taken into accout the period where you only have say 200hp because your turbo isnt spooled?
This is all coming from someone who knows a grain of sand of knowledge compared to the beaches these guys are ready to dump on your around here...
