a stiffer chassis from using subframe connectors would help a bit. it will prevent the toruqe from twisting the car as much and help to keep the weight on teh rear tires more even
with an independant rear suspension i wouldn't go messing with ride heights too much jsut for a trip to the track. as you lower the rear it will put negative camber(leaning the tops of the tires in) and take away from the contact patch of the tire on the pavement.
if you have adjustable shocks you can set the rears to compress easier and set the fronts to rise easier to help the weight get onto the tires.
