I'll try to get a vid this weekend.
Details of my set-up: My Y-pipe and exhaust were all built by Mufflex. Engine is a stroker (383) with a supercharger, jethot long tubes, 3" y-pipe with 3" dynotech cats just behind the header collectors. The Y-pipe merges into a 3" and 4" out collector. Not the 3" in/out with a step pipe to merge the Y to the intermediate pipe. Then back to the muffler I have the single in/single out and the tail pipe cut level with the bumper.
Spintech does offer dual outs as well. that is slightly quiter. and you can get any exhuast pipe if want to keep the stock locations.
A friend has longtubes, no cats and loud mouth on his 97Z. With the two cars sitting side by side, At idle my car is louder and deeper sounding, and you can barely hear his, at around 2,000 RPMs his car is slightly louder, but starting to get raspy, above 4,000 you can't hear my car!
On my 84Z I had edelbrock headers gutted cat and the Flowmaster cat back and it was louder then my Spintech. I hated the Flowmaster on long hauls.
And before NJSpeeder says it! ( and it's true!) It's because I'm old and don't like really loud exhuast systems.
