I used a heat gun on the lowest settings,an old card (like a credit card or library card) and alot of soap & water.

First I cleaned up the area with soap & water, I made sure there was no dirt and it was smooth. I dried it off with a towel, and then I started with a heat gun working my way from front to back. I didn't keep the heat gun on an area for more then a minute, and I slowly pulled back on the molding making sure I was getting everything off at the same time. If you do it right, the heat will make the glue rise cleanly if you are gentle and slow with it. Then after I got it all off I washed the area again. I was told to wax it too, so I did the entire car when I was done.
