they were built to be driven, some were built to be little more than thinly veiled race cars on the street, treat them as such and both you and the car will be happy.

Different strokes for different folks I guess. I know I'm in the minority with my position on the topic.
In my opinion they are just too expensive and too valuable to be driven. How fun is a cruise really going to be if you have to worry about every inattentive driver on the road? How fun is your burnout going to be if you worry about breaking parts that can't be replaced?
As much fun as it would be to rip around in a real version of a legendary musclecar, it just isn't practical in my eyes. I'd rather beat up on something I can be careless with. I couldn't care less about people who poo-poo on clones. They can go polish their "real car" and sit in a lawn chair. I'll be off in my non original car peeling the tires off the beads on a windy two laner.
