bubbles are more often the result of poor surface prep than contact. if it was all spider webbed i would think about someone/something hitting it.
there are some good books out there about doing body work at home. get yourself to borders and see if you can pick one up. doing prep work yourself is cheap and pretty easy. it will also save you a bunch of cash when you do go to get the car repainted, since you won't have to pay shop rate for a few hours of prep work.
