prepare yourself for a noobie question....
is everyone here a yankees fan?
I don't understand the gay-rod comments, so someone please explain them to me. We're talking about someone who may end up being the 'greatest' player in his era, if not history. I know that is very debatable since they said the same thing about young Griffey Jr. but injuries ruined that. I really believe injuries aside, yankee fans are the only thing that will hold A-Rod back from achieving this. So everyone says A-Rod sucks....not sure I understand that I've played ball my whole life and I'd be pretty damn happy with his numbers at that level. For instance '05 .321 ba, .421 obp, 48 hr, and 130 rbis. Is that not good? And last year he struggled and hit a measly .290 haha. A-rods best? No way, but still not bad. remember a .300 career hitter is hard to come by. Even so, he still had 35 hr and 121 rbis that year. In '04 Jeter hit .292 with 23 hr and 78 rbi, no one started calling him Derek sucks Peter did they? I must be missing something...
Now...Derek Jeter. The yankee captain right? bull f*&%in *****. From the arrival of A-Rod, Jeter should have moved to 2nd, all you Cano fans keep in mind he wasn't there yet. A-Rod at SS and Jeter at 2nd...that may have been one of the best middle infields in a while. But what is done is done, so moving on. Does anyone believe a captain should be a leader, talk for the team and the players? If so, why has Jeter publically refused to defend A-Rod? Would a captain, a field general, not defend his teammate from the media? Not saying he has to be rude or bash anyone, but maybe even politely 'ask' the media to cut A-Rod some slack...nope. The media worships the ground Jeter walks on, they might just listen.
Please no one be offended, I'm not trying to bash Jeter as a baseball player. I think Derek Jeter is a great baseball player, a little overrated, but great nonetheless. While I'll admit I HATE the yankees and what they have become under Darth Steinbrenner I respect the incredible history and majesty the NY represents.

I'm just trying to spark a little innocent pinstripes debate

Have at it haha
