no doubt, if you still have a rochester (unless the throttle bushing in the metering block is worn excessivly) i would reccomend a rebuild. Those are some good running carbs for sure. Why do you think rebuilts are so expensive? Ive replaced rochester with carters and eledbrocks and always had some god damn trouble with idle, choke, even backfiring (due to lask of dashpot) why do you think you see nothing but rochesters on stockers, NHRA allows holleys if it was an option from the factory.
