This is why I hate cars
Ok. went to go work on my car. With no leaf springs yet, I figured that Id at least get the aluminum subframe bushings in. I read on Nasty its a pretty straight foward job...
So, I go out, start with the passanger side. Usually passanger side is the bitch for me...dunno why. I put it in, only had to make a little modification to the bushings, but everything goes in fine, no problems.
Driver side....first, cant get the bolts loose. They have been sitting in PBB for the whole morning...so I spray a little more in there. I go to the rear one first, YES it comes out...so go back to the front...stuck. I change position to get a bit more leverage....yes it breaks loose!!
Wait...there is this noise...and the bolt stop coming out of the hole....
I feel up by the cage nut, and sure enough...the bracing that holds the cage nut is sitting up. So, I have to figure a way to bring it down. I figured that I would see if I can get a hammer in there...no way. So Im reading on Nasty again, and its happend to a few people. They say, take the inner fender off, and you are golden. So, I dont want to remove the whole inner fender, I figured Id just losen it up. I do, and there is no way I can get a hammer in ther unless i remove the whole inner fender.
Well, I figured that I could use a c-clamp to squeeze the bracket down over the top of the cage nut. I get the clamp on the bracket...start tighting down...and it comes down. Man I feel like a genious!! Didnt need a hammer, nothing!! So i take the clamp out, put the fender back together, put the wheel back , and start loosen the bolt agian....its spinning AGAIN? What? I Look through the little peep hole, and sure enough the bracket is back up in the air!!! WTFF!!!
So I squeeze the clamp up into the hole, dont want to do the whole fender dance again. So I get it down agian...but this time i leave the clamp on this time. Bolt is not moving. Spray more PBB, walk away, come back, loosens up a little
I need more leverage, so I take off the clamp again,..and I watch the braket...and as soon as I go to loosen the bolt, IT COMES UP AGAIN!!!
I am flipping out at this point. I figured that I have to take the WHOLE EFFING FENDER out of the car. I look, some 4000 bolts holding it in to the car. So i get to bolt #4000...its striped. I cant get the fender out. At this point, its 730pm. Yes, what should ahve been done by at most 3, is now gone 6.5 hrs. So I go back and forth, trying to get it to loosen. The lower nut is square, and you cant get a correct wrench on it cause its a square nut. Nothing is fitting over it. I get a 1/2 inch wrench around the bottom, and got the air guns out now to give me some help. Still, nothing. So I figured I have to cut it out...figured 3999 bolts should hold the fender in. Go to grab the dremel and cut off wheel....all out of the mandrels for the cut off wheels. So I break out the grinder bit, its like pissing on a forest fire. So here I am, 830, sun is pretty much gone, and I am at a level of pissed off that I cant even describe right now. This s*** happens to me all the time. I got to do something pretty easy, and end up taking a detour, and another detour, and another, to where detour's become bigger projects then what you set out to do.
