The upper echelon Macs are definitely more expensive, but not much else comes close in terms of reliability and performance. The more consumer oriented Macs are priced in line (maybe slightly higher in some cases) with comparible PCs. But even still, you get the same software across the board, not 5 watered-down options. As far as customer support goes, who needs it with a Mac?
I've been a Mac user for close to 20 years, and have been managing prepress and creative depts. for at least the last 10+, and have never had to call customer support once.
