88z-man, i was the guy sitting next to you inside at the chatterbox meet, The state really does not care how you have it insured. In my case, all they did was LOOK at my regular insurance card and hand it back to me, Its not a collector car policy. They didnt even ask to see the declaration sheet listing it as pleasure use. Nor did the ask to see any proof i have another vehcile registered and insured as use as a daily driver.
IF you WANT collector car insurance, then yes, you may need it appraised, thats basically for most "agreed" value policies. In those cases they wanna see a reason for "X amount of dollars" in coverage desired. Once i actually get collector insurance for my SS, iroc, and 79 vette, all will have agreed values, the iroc will be 10k, vette will be 20k, and the SS around 45K, i have all receipts and doc.'s top support those value.
