can be turned into a 383 stroker... i have a 400 crank that needs to be cut down... i can throw in for another 75 bucks....
lemmme know.... cause i have been asked in pms what it would take to make it a stroker....
The 383" engine combination is a 400 crank in a 350 block. There is an added machining processes required to do any of these given combinations such as what your asking about…..the 400 crank will have to have the mains turned down to 2.45 inch to fit the 350 block…… If you plan on getting this crank to a decent horse engine combo then you can use the 5.565 inch 400 rods with 350 pistons. On the other hand if you are going to make crazy horse and rev over 5500, you need to use a 5.7 or 6 inch good rod….
The block must be ground in many area’s to clear without hitting the crank, rods, and cam. You will be moving to an external balanced rotating assembly, and must use a 400 harmonic balancer (which I have also for sale), and flywheel(not sure, I might have one). The rotating assembly must be balanced, as in the crank, rods, pistons, damper, and flywheel must be matched, and just won't stay together without this being done
I have a 400 balancer and might have a flywheel I need to check on that…
But lemme know…. Hope that helped…
