Who made up those numbers?! I just got 31 mpg on my trip to Ocean City, NJ first with the t-tops off, then with the a/c on, followed up by some city driving. I do have a Hooker catback and its a Firebird, not a Camaro. I suppose you could chalk up 5 mpg to that and my amazing highway driving and nicely broken-in motor at 140,000 miles.
Anyway, people that say v6 f-bodies are chick cars might have an identity crisis were they to see a debadged car. Basically if you can't decide whether or not the car is masculine or feminine when you see it on the road (assuming it is a car driven with its hood closed), you shouldn't consider it a chick car.
A Mini Cooper is a chick car and I would drive one until the wheels fell off.
