there is a reason GM is not currently considering a firebird rebirth. no need to raise costs to fight against your own market share.
face it, the mustang will have x number of buyers, the new dodge stuff will have y number of buyers, and the new gm rear drive stuff will have z number fo buyers.
to make another sports car on the same platform you increase production lines costs dramatically and there is no historical or theoretical evidence that the sales stolen from groups x and y will offset the new found costs levels in group z.
yes, it would be cool if they did it. i jsut don't see how any businessman in their right mind would even consider it.
and for god's sake, would everyone please stop saying that sawed off wanna be second gen photochop is a cool look firebird. the only company that goes after styling like that is tonka!! the platform was built up to look like a first gen camaro, the pontiac alternative shoudl look like a 69 firebird
