if you were using a solid lifter cam and want it to sound real lopey and make great power - cranes Saturday night special is the real deal - 518 / 536 - i think 240 250 - on a 106 center line - 327 3500 lbs w/ 750 DP Perf RPM with a 1 inch fiber block under carb - it needs the the lower CL # to make low end power, short stroke big bore and not a lot of crank swept weight - they like to rev and the faster it can get up their the better - just my idea using that combo years back -- glide with 3800 conv if really racing and street a 700 trans 2800 conv no lock up - my choice 64 cc chambers in heads the 72 wont work with a 327 to small a piston volume area, with a longer then stock duration cam -- just my take for what it may be worth - jz
