Sorry; neglected this thread for a day or two. Unlike my T/A, it runs, runs well and has done so since I bought it new. It's a 2001 TJ Sport, 4.0 (Best durn Jeep motor EVER) with about 134k on the ticker. The only major problem I had engine wise was a defect in the head; Daimler Chrysler made good on it and replaced it. Running a five speed that was replaced in 2004 as I wasn't exactly good with maintenance back then and three years worth of mud and water crossings with no fluid changes resulted in huge chunks of metal.
I'm also on my second NP231 transfer case as well; once again, neglected maintenance. My front drive shaft was in bad need of grease and seized, and the pressure was enough to actually crack the T case. Replaced it and installed a J&B Conversions Super Shorty SYE and custom CV rear shaft. I'm kind of religious about maintenance after that experience, so it's also sporting all new tie rods and ends and a new (Used) steering gear box as the old one leaked like a sieve and left a nice coating of grime under the Jeep.
I'm running a 1.75" Daystar coil spacer lift and a JKS 1.25" body and motor mount lift. Rolling on 33" BFG mud terrains (33 x 12.5 x 15) on black steel wagon wheels. Came from the factory with the Dana 30 front axle, which remains open, and the Dana 44 rear, which still contains the factory LSD. Bilstein shocks and Teraflex adjustable lower control arms on all four corners and Rubicon Express swaybar disconnects also. Nth Degree 'tummy tucker' skid plate and a Kilby gas tank skid plate as well as Warn diff guards for a little extra protection from the rocks.
Body wise, I'm running home made front and rear bumpers and a tire carrier I liberated from a buddy's scrap pile and modified to suit my purposes (I love to weld, no matter how bad I am at it!). Also running some old nerf bars of unknown origin that were given to me, but I plan to replace them with a set of home made rocker guards. Also have an old Cobra 19 Plus CB mounted on the dash to keep up with the news out on the trails.
Future upgrades will include only gears and lockers (4.27:1 with ARBs front and rear), a new stereo head unit and I'm DONE with this rig. I don't want a long arm lift or short arm kit as the height on this rig is perfect for me. It's a dual purpose rig that I drive to work several times a week (40 miles one way) and it works just how I want it to on the trails. Handles like a stocker on the street and crawls rocks like a champ off road.
Yeah, yeah...this thread is useless without pics.
