Like SteveR said, me, my dad, uncle, and cousins used to all rent boats out of Barnegat, can't beat the Barnegat Bay. The houses are definitely cheap over there, maybe a little pricey if the house is on the water. But there are much nicer areas like Brick and Toms River, which last week on the news were said to be the No. 1 and No. 5 safest areas in our ENTIRE country, thats where I would go, or one other area that I'm in love w/ is Laurence Harbor, Exit 120 on the Parkway, not to far from the city, but not to far from the ocean, its right in the middle in a perfect spot and is really beautiful.
