With a mild cam you *should* be fine, but just like anything else....when you start modding, things will break. It's just a matter of when.

If you can't afford a full rebuild but want some more power, you could just finish the rest of your bolts ons (FTRA if you don't have it, electric water pump, etc.), and then work on the chassis (torque arm and SFCs maybe).
