No, it wouldnt widen anything. One eats off the others budget. Example
Lets say Camaro is by itself. It needs to get a refresh to stay ahead. Well, they have 1 million to do that. They spend that 1 million to make it better, w00t!!
Now, Camaro and Firebird. Take that same million, cut it in half, get two warmed up versions of last years, both enhancements not meeting what the public wanted, and failure.
The market is only so many units strong. Its not like people are jumping out of Camrys, Accords, Tahoes and Explorers to get a coupe, be it Mustang, Camaro, Challenger or anything...
Higher price Firebird? People were bitching and moaning about a 32k FOUR HUNDRED HORSE POWER LUXURY GTO....

No, its not.
If there is ever a 2 door RWD coupe, it will be much smaller, and probably not cary a V8. GM will not make the Firebird for a handful of reason.
Pontiac's image will not include a Trans Am Firebird type car. GTO? Maybe. RWD G6? Yeah. Solstice coupe? Possible...
