find out what kind of video card you have (nvidia or ati) you can find this by right clicking on the desktop and going to "properties" then click the "settings" tab all the way on the right. click 'advanced" and you should see nvidia or ati emblem. from there it should tell you somewhere what kind of video card you have.

BUT if you are using onboard video (video directly from your motherboard) you will have to install the drivers from a CD that came with either your motherboard or your video card.
