If you want to get technical, we were a british commonwealth, not a country when we faught the Revolution. Pearl Harbor was a military attack on an island that was not part of the US at the time.
Lusitania was a British cruise ship. Americans were on it, with possible wepons going to Britian. I belive we didnt go to war in WWI till we intercepted a letter from the German leader to the Mexican President about invading our southern boarder to distract us from going to war in Europe.
