Tire Iron joke is older then dirt, time to find another joke to ruin bubba.
And I will agree with almost everyone here, you did do the right thing. Your wife even said she wanted to go out there and give a piece of her mind to him, and then she says you overreacted? thats called being a hypocrite. As for yelling at the kid and not your daughter, that too was the right thing to do. Of course she's gonna be mad, she's only 12, she only knows so much thats right from wrong, she hasent developed much of a what are the consequences mind set, so in her mind, you ruined her fun, she wasent thinking about oh what If I fall off, and embarrased her infront of the kids, but personally, I'd rather have a pissed off daughter then one wound up in bandages, or even worse. How old is the kid with the quad? I would say go talk to the parents, but most likely they'll get mad cause your trying to tell them how to raise their kid, and noone likes that, so the best thing to do is to see if your fellow neighbors feel the same way you do ,and go as a group to let them know that its not just you who has a problem with their kid, and maybe they'll listen without getting into an arguement. And after that, if he continues on with the racing by, then a quick call to the PD should change things, and if he doesnt have insurance, and such for it, and they catch him zipping by, most likely they will haul it to impound, or will give him a stern talking to. Id really hate to see anyone get hurt, so I feel that the he'll learn his lesson when he crashes deal is not a good thing. Let your daughter know that you were just lookign out for her safety, and that you love her too much to have anyhting dangerous happen to her.
