Where does the TBI part come in? Are you contemplating TBI instead? If I recall correctly, TBI has 19lb/hr injectors and TPI has 24lb/hr injectors in a stock config. If you want better gas milage (for a daily driver or cruiser) then the TBI setup may be better for you. If you want quick off-the-line response for racing or street work, then the TPI (MAF, not SD) may be better for you.
Almost..

TBI has two injectors at 48lb an hour with 13 or so psi. The 350 TPI has 8 injectors, at 22lbs an hour at 48psi. For off the line TBI and TPI are comparable. TPI can be tuned to have excellent gas milage. My old iroc had a 350 with a Lt1 cam, 1.6rr's, 1094 head gaskests, and the usual exhuast stuff. Was getting 28-30mpg on the highway when it was a 6 speed.

The big reason why I said to use the TBI harness and convert that is because, well the harness is in the car, less work to convert it over than to try to make the 87 split harness work with the 90-2 stuff at the C100 connector and C207. Not only that, he can prolly sell the maf stuff for a few bucks to recoupe the costs of doing the swap. Most of the swap over to SD you can get at the junk yard for under 50 bucks (ECM and MAP) Just finding a prom to work with it is the harder part. (www.tpiparts.com) I think that is the correct web site.
