Just my luck...

Well after putting about 40 miles on my car with Lloyd Elliott Stage 2 heads an a LE 1.5 cam I started up my car one day and it idled at about 500 rpms and sounded like it was miss firing terribly with a strange type of tap and then wouldn't start. After pulling the valve covers I discovered that my number 2 cylinder intake valve spring snapped. I was in shocked I couldn't understand how a Comp Beehive spring could snap like that at first I thought the rockers where to tight but that didn't make sense cause all the other springs were fine plus I had the rockers adjusted professionally...

After doing some research turns out I'm not the only one to ever break a Comp 918 Beehive spring. Comp switched their manufactuer of this spring to Mexico and since then there has been a huge number of people snapping them within the first 100 miles of putting them on. Guess I was one of the lucky ones...Mass production resulted in low quality of product.

As far as I know I don't think Comp is honoring anyone that has broken them. Great.

So as I stated this is just my luck..looks like the heads will be coming off again.
