Ughh, that's so sad
You absolutely did the right thing staying with the poor little guy. That's my worst fear because we live on such a busy road. Even though we have a fenced back yard, we never leave them outside by themselves. Baley jumped the fence once when we were just fostering him, but thank God he went towards the woods and not the road.
