Go to Dick's sporting goods or the Sports Authority. They sell olympic sets (300lb) for a little over $100 which is a great deal. You will have a hard time finding used plates for cheaper. I have tried and failed at that. If you don't know, an olympic set is

A stand should only be a few bucks.
Granted, these are chinese made low density iron, but it doesn't matter since they weigh the correct amount. If you want the high density stuff you have to go to Reps or someplace like that and pay a lot more. If you need higher end stuff or specialty equipment I suggest you drive out to
Binshape Exercise Equipment on Rt 57 in Stewartsville, formerly Ferrigno Fitness (yes, THAT Ferrigno). Great prices and great equipment, it will be worth the gas $.
