ive personally worked on a LOT of honda's. They definatly have the potnetial of spanking cars of all types from LS's to 2JZs. Proof is with the Red Civic Coupe that runs low 9's at OVER 160mph. As well as the white MB racing bubble that runs mid 9's at close to 160. Both street driven. The problem is the amount of money that it takes to go that fast just imply isdnt worth it. At my old shop in newark we built a motor for this one kid. Dont remember the exacty number but it weas close to 6 grand for the bottom end alone and it wasnt even that crazy of a bottom end. Certainly not of the same caliber as the 9 second MB and formerly Agressive Motor Sport now MB Racing red coupe civic. Over 6 grand into the top end. He bought the turbo kit which was a greddy/trust set up. So im sure it was over 4 grand. over 5 grand in the trans. A few grand here and there for other misc stuff such as electronics, roll cage, suspension etc....22PSI 521hp 318ft lbs. Now thats a lot. Especially in a 2200lb car. 10.8@131. Total cost=over 30,000 to run high/mid 10's. The worst part is its in a car thats so damn light. Take the weight advantage away and you're spending tens of thousands on a car to go nowhere. I just dont get it.
