Now, people are hoping that they finally turned it around. One good season, a decent season last year, the media's hype of Schiano as a incredible recruiter has created unreal expectations.
That is the funny thing about expectations in college sports. Schiano is supposed to be a really charmer when he goes recruiting, but with one great season to recruit from and an ok season last year, that still leaves this full season until all of his hype backed recruiting to come through. Most college football players only make it on the field their senior year, so anyone he managed to attract through the hype years won't see the field until next year anyway.

Rutgers has a chance to start getting better and turning that tradition around, it just takes a decade to really change that, not a few seasons.
