That information was leaked by an insider to us. Dealers will be notified around 2011-2012.
GM will not announce anything till that time. Right now, the Pontiac, Buick and GMC dealers are finally coming together. What will happen to that empty space, GM will come up with at that time.

Pontiac is the only GM NA division that has no global ties.
Chevy is world wide
Caddy is world wide
Saturn is Opel/Vaux
Buick is world wide
Saab is world wide

GMC is just now starting in the middle east and is the 2nd best selling and most profitable division of GM.

Outside of the G8, there is no other Pontiac that is sold world wide.
That was the choice the BOD made about a month ago

and pontiac in the tank? old news, too. sorry, TA lovers. only in your dreams. pontiac is going the way of oldsmobile. and if buick doesn't continue to pull their weight, they'll get axed, too. then it will just be chevy and saturn and cadillac. might as well get rid of the definitive names and call the product GM for simplicity.
Buick sells like gangbusters in China, and with its recent product infusion, should turn around here in the US.

Pontiac wanted to be a poor mans BMW, not directly compete with BMW.
The G6 is not trying to be a 325i, but built its performance image off the same ideas of a total package.
They do sometimes cross paths, G8/G8 GT vs 530/550i, Solstce/GXP vs Z4/ M roadster/coupe, but were never designed to complete directly towards one another.
Pontiac does not want ot be a European brand, that is Saturn's job. Pontiac just wanted to be GM's performance brand, but its just not working out.

Its THE #1 brand in China. VW #2. Chevy is also climbing fast in China and India as well as Eastern Europe. Caddy also has some different looks over in China such as the SLS, a stretched and much more luxurious version of the STS sold here.
