Went on the 65 mile drive and except for a great day, what a boring waste of time. Anytime you have all the entrants judge, it usually turns out to what someone likes, which is fine but doesn't take into account the quality of the car presented. There were 63 cars in total(NO 4th Gen Birds)and I was in the Semi-Modified Class. Add in a 1967 Firebird, a 1972 Trans Am, a 1964 GTO and a 1970 Judge clone. There was a tie for 2nd and they gave out 4 trophies. Guess who had a car that was TOO NEW? Most of those POCI shows are made up of late 50's to early 70's and that's where the voting goes. A lot of trailer Queens(1958-59 Bonneville Conv.)and early GTO's. Nobody even asked about what mods my car had, but go near an early Trans Am or GTO and everybody wants to know where you got the repo decal for the air cleaner or that perfect hose clamp.
