I have a friend who did the same thing. He's a higher up at Hanscom AFB and he sold his 2000 Z28 for a new Saab 9-5 2.3T. Killed him to do it but you have to look the part. "Dress for the job you want, not the one you have" means more than clothes.
My dad drives a 300C AWD every day and he loves it. It's a great car. The only gripe I have about it is the wacky steering feel. I'm sure it's something you get used to but it seems very imprecise to me.
