Actually, they won some of thier best games with a low payroll. Look at teh late 90's, no-name guys who put a hurt on many MANY teams.
Stop making up excuses on why the Yankees will always be the best team in baseball.
This is why I hate fans for teams like the Phillies, who bitch and moan about the Yankee's payroll. They win one WS in 100 years, and they think that they are god gift to baseball.
Payroll means **** if no one can play. Dont be bitter, enjoy your little parade, and hopefully before 2108 Phillies will make it magic #3.
Some of the greatest baseball players in the history of the sport played for the Yankees not cause of payroll, but because they had amazing tallent that many dream of.
