There is an amount built in to every policy that people can be sued for. Just that it would be up to the insurance of the person that hit you how much that would be, I think the minimum in Jersey is either 10 or 20k plus costs.
If you are playing 3500 a year for insurance, regardless of what the policy is, you need to look for new insurance.
