police are really given wide discretion when writing tickets, as not every situation has a statute. i've had exhibition of speed tickets, but that was usually for lighting them up or really getting on it with a slight chirp from second to third. sounds to me like the cop didn't know what else to write, so he wrote exhibition of speed.
it's a shame, but people usually react like this one did when the cop asked him what he was doing. i would've said, i'm running errand for my wife. no need to admit you've done something wrong before ever getting to court. i would never say "not using my head, i guess."
