second gens are where it's at, now, though. they slipped quietly from "worth next to nothing" to "finance your kid's college education" in a heartbeat, it seems. i let an '81 go that was in full running condition for $850 that i know i will regret at some point, and that was 2 weeks ago. it seems, as usual, that the Z cars are more sought after, too, regardless of year. i can see buying a plain jane '81 and making a Z car clone...

The 4th gen aftermarket has been in a decline since 2002. I remember opening up Summit or Jeg's and finding like 10 pages of stuff just for LT-1s and LS-1s, now you're lucky to get two pages, and its all junk anyhow. There used to be all sorts of aftermarket companies making stuff, now it's pickings. It won't take the new Maro to put the 4th gens under, just a few more years.
