I certainly love the idea and would try my hand at the Q8 once I get a rear in the car. BUT,,,,,
There isn't that much interest in the LT1s anymore. With the LSX blocks now being so affordable the LT1s are basically done with R+D so we can't even come close to the cubic inches the LS based engines are getting. So getting a vendor to do anything like this is going to be tuff,they aren't going to get that much publicity or business from it. After one race there will probably be one really quick LT! and it will be a class killer and the LT1 quick 8 will be money looser.
In the tristate area N2ODave is the fastest LT1 that I'm aware of. 396 LT1 block, SB2 heads, clutchless 5 speed. Went 9s on a soft launch and all motor. Easy 8 second car on the spray. but that monster is big money! He has almost as much in his motor alone as I have in my entire car!
