My neighbor's friend had a Cooper S for a while. I don't know how it compares to the new generation Cooper S, but the old one rode great. It was like driving a street-legal go-kart! My only complaint was waiting for the boost to come on and the lack of low-end torque made it feel boring off the line. Torque is more important than HP on the street, cause that's what gets you moving out into highway traffic.
