If the coil is not grounded it will burn out taking the module with it.The coil must ground against the bracket. If it is like the set up in the early V6 S10's where the coil is mounted on a bracket make sure the bracket is clean of rust. Clean the bracket where the coil mounts and where it bolts to the motor. Use die-electric grease on the bracket where it bolts to the engine and where the coil mounts. As an added step run a stainless steel ground strap to the bracket as well.
