Canton makes a good product. And the difference between a "dry sump" oiling system and a "wet sump" oiling system is the dry sump uses an external belt or gear driven pump, and an external oil tank. Your Camaro [and pretty much all other GM vehicles, save certain 'Vettes] uses a wet sump set up, which means the oil is contained inside the oil pan, and an internal pump distributes the oil with in the engine.
